Reconciliation Action Plan Artwork

We’re seeking an original artwork that captures the vision of Adelaide Venue Management’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.

Our Vision

We embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, knowledge and leadership; respect connections to Country; and build meaningful pathways to employment, participation and shared success. Together, we move forward with purpose and a lasting commitment to reconciliation.

The commissioned artwork will reflect our commitment to reconciliation, our connection to Kaurna Country, and the role of our venues as places of gathering, learning, opportunity and shared experiences.

As a business operating on Kaurna Country, we welcome concepts that celebrate connection, community and collaboration, and acknowledge the relationships we continue to build with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across South Australia.

The artwork will feature throughout our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan and may also be reproduced across a range of printed and digital communications materials.

To support these applications, the final artwork should:

• be suitable for professional photography, digitisation and reproduction
• maintain its integrity across a range of print and digital formats
• be capable of being reproduced at a large scale.

The successful artist will also be invited to provide a short artist statement describing the artwork, its inspiration and how it connects to the vision of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.

We invite you to submit an Expression of Interest via email to [email protected] with the subject line: EOI – Reconciliation Artwork – [Your Name].

We welcome submissions in the format that best suits you. If you’d prefer to submit your Expression of Interest in another format, or require support with the application process, please get in touch.

Your submission should include:

• A short artist biography.
• A statement outlining your interest in the commission.
• Examples of your previous artwork (such as a portfolio, website, social media links or images).
• Your proposed commission fee.
• Your contact details.

You’re welcome to include any early ideas, sketches or visual references to help us understand your creative approach, although fully developed concepts are not required at this stage.

Applicants must:

• Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artist.
• Be based in South Australia.
• Hold, or be able to provide, an ABN as part of the engagement process.

Applications close Friday, 18 September 2026.

Following the Expression of Interest process, up to three artists will be shortlisted and invited to further develop their concepts. Each shortlisted artist will receive a $500 concept development fee.

The successful artist will work collaboratively with Adelaide Venue Management to refine the artwork ahead of final delivery.

Artists are asked to include an indicative commission fee as part of their application. The final fee will be negotiated with the successful artist and will include:

• Ownership of the original artwork by Adelaide Venue Management.
• A license for Adelaide Venue Management to reproduce, publish and display the artwork across print, digital and promotional materials.
